The Then and Now discussion on the 19th December focused on festive traditions, precious Christmas gifts and old toys and games people have saved since childhood.
There were examples of old Christmas decorations, mechanical toys, early electric model trains and war time table games. One person brought along a perfect example of a ‘Winston Churchill Jigsaw’ one of the toys specifically commissioned by Churchill to ensure that children were able to enjoy their playtimes even during WW2.
The next Then and Now meeting will consider the role of Rydal and Penrhos schools in the development of Colwyn Bay. It will be held on the 27th March 2018, in the Station Hotel , at 10.00am.
Everyone is welcome.
