1974
Borough of Colwyn and county of Clwyd created in 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972. The Borough of Colwyn incorporated the former Borough of Colwyn Bay, the Urban District Council of Abergele and the Rural District Councils of Aled and Hiraethog.
