Pier memories eBook launched

Colwyn Bay Heritage Group is pleased to announce the launch of its first e-Book – Pier Memories. As the title gives away, it is a collection of people’s memories of the pier across the years – from attending school speech days to a first date that led to marriage.

Compiled by local author and group member Cindy Lowe (“Colwyn Bay Accredited” and “To Where We Once Belonged: Colwyn Bay Revisited”) with the support of other group members the e-Book is now available for sale from Amazon. The foreword has been contributed by a former Colwyn Bay school friend of Cindy’s – Darlah Thomas, author of “The Piers of Wales”.

The eBook will be available in PDF format free of charge to all those who have contributed memories.

Our popular Heritage Group website has also been updated to reflect the increasing use of tablets and mobile phones to view the internet. Funded and supported by Colwyn Bay Townscape Heritage Initiative, the website has been redesigned by Colony of Ants who have also developed an entirely new feature for 2016 – a timeline of the history of the town and surrounding area.

We’d very pleased to hear from anyone who can help us with more information for the timeline along with suggestions for future eBooks of memories.

The Heritage Group is also making good progress with the next Heritage Walk booklet – Old Colwyn – which will be available soon.
