Aline Davies was born in Colwyn Bay. Her family had moved to the town in the 1920s when her grandfather was unwell and his Doctor recommended a move to Colwyn Bay.
Aline has many memories of the pier. She was crowned Colwyn Bay Savings Queen there during the 1950s. The pier was the venue for her wedding reception and she has happy memories of the Grammar School prizegivings which also took place there. Max Bygraves was one of the many famous names to appear in the Variety Shows. The Pier Orchestra would perform at 11.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. and there would be guest singers on a Sunday.
