Anne Jones

Anne Jones was born in Tan Lan, Old Colwyn, and has lived in the area all her life. First attending Old Colwyn Council School, at 11 years of age she moved to Colwyn Bay Grammar School.

Starting in 1953, she worked at the telephone exchange for 8 years. Anne then worked on the switchboard and reception at Llanddulas Quarry.

One of Anne’s earliest memories is going to concerts on the pier and taking part in dance shows there from around the age of 6 years old. She has fond memories of Rose Days and May Days when there was always a Rose Queen or a May Day Queen.

Anne was interviewed by Arthur.
