When you enter Pen y Bryn, immediately on the right is the old Bethesda Chapel built in 1832 and enlarged in 1860. It was subsequently converted into a house and a warehouse, which was used to store flour from the mill in Llawr Pentre during the First World War. On the left is Twynan Terrace which was built in the 1900s, the first house of which was the Police Station for many years. Also in Pen y Bryn was the former smithy, dating back to 1864.
